Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects >10% of the world’s population, driving high morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs due to late detection via eGFR and albuminuria, which lack sensitivity and specificity for early stages. Building on robust preclinical (mice, dogs) and pediatric data across nine common nephropathies, Quant Biomarkers Team is developing RenoRisk Detect, a novel and patents-pending urine-based biomarker panel, for early CKD detection in at-risk population (hypertension, diabetes, obesity, >60y age) and progression prediction in existing CKD patients.
Similar to HbA1C tests for diabetes and Lipid tests for cardiovascular diseases, RenoRisk Detect addresses unmet needs, early, non-invasive, affordable CKD detection with high sensitivity and specificity. We outpace current solutions that lack sensitivity and specificity, or are applicable only to subgroups and expensive. Targeting an emerging early CKD biomarker market valued at 2-10B$, we aim for 10-15% share of 600M at-risk patients within 5 years post launch via partnerships. We also collaborate with pharma for patient stratification and accelerate the development of new nephroprotective therapiesc like SGLT2, GLP1.
We are an industry veteran team of complementary skills and have strong partnerships with the Swiss hospital consortia of nephrologists. Our innovation will transform CKD management, delay progression, reduce healthcare costs, and lessen societal burdens, delivering impactful health outcomes for the world.
